You can place trades with or without a Guaranteed Stop.
Before placing a trade you must have sufficient funds on your account to cover the initial margin requirement.
As well as this initial margin payment, you must also maintain funds on your account to cover any running losses.
Your losses can exceed the total amount of margin paid.

I am applying for a Limited Risk Account

You are restricted to placing trades with a Guaranteed Stop.
You must specify a stop-loss level for every trade you open. In return for a wider dealing spread or additional commission, we guarantee that, should the market move against you, your position will be closed at exactly the level you selected, even if there is a sharp market movement overnight.
You must have sufficient funds on your account to cover the maximum possible loss before you open each position.
The maximum amount you can lose is known in advance.

VERIFICATION OF IDENTITY DOCUMENTS

Note: Verification of identity can be made by visiting our offices in Zurich, Switzerland, or by mail using the procedures below.

Required Documents for Swiss Citizens
Swiss citizens opening an account by mailing their documents to Swiss e Trade AG must have a copy of their passport notarized by a notary public (ein Notar) in the community where they live*.
The applicant needs only to send the duly completed and signed account forms with the notarized passport copy to :

Upon receipt of the documents, Swiss e Trade AG will send the applicant transfer instructions to open the account.
* Please note that the notary public will require a fee of about SFr 40.-- for this service.
Required Documents for All Other Nationalities
Non-Swiss citizens opening an account by mailing their documents to Swiss e Trade AG must have a copy of their passport notarized* by a notary public and an apostille* verifying that the notary public is authentic. The notary public can give the address of the government office which can issue an apostille.
Send only the notarized passport copy to the apostille issung office. Do not send the other account forms!
The applicant needs only to send the duly completed and signed account forms with the notarized passport copy and the apostille to :

* Please note that fees of between $20.-- and $50.-- will be charged for the notarization of a passport and the issuing of an apostille.
